Before Beloit

Joined the Business Leaders of Tomorrow Club

Participated in coding boot camps and I fell in love with coding

Chose Beloit for the strong Computer Science department, athletic opportunities, and small class sizes

Year 1

Became a varsity athlete for Football (GO BUCS!!)

Interned at Stadia Ventures (venture capital firm in Missouri) in the summer. As a student-athlete, I enjoyed researching sports business startups for potential investments at Stadia.

Taught middle schoolers coding at Claim Academy, where I realized computer science may not be my favorite thing. I was more interested in the hands-on work of venture capital firms.

Year 2

Declared a double major in Business Economics and Political Science. U.S Federal Government and Race and Ethnicity in America with Professor Philip Chen showed me how political science incorporates economic theory into law.

Interned at The DESCO Group (commercial real estate company), where I supported financial, legal, and portfolio management departments and strengthened my accounting, spreadsheet management, and finance skills.

Year 3

Networked at Econ Day where a Beloit alum working in financial services inspired me to try out corporate finance.

Interned at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (Missouri) and contributed to market research projects, portfolio reviews, and back-end analysis. Here, I discovered my passion for financial services!

Year 4

Decided to pursue a career in finance and started the job hunt. Participated in resume workshops and mock interviews at The Career and Community Engagement Center.

Applied skills from Accounting and Financial Planning with Professor Diep Phan to my job interviews - the course perfectly tied accounting principles to the financial sector.

After Beloit

Researched finance opportunities for new graduates, completed the 3 interview phases, and got an offer!

Accepted a job offer with Northern Trust Corporation (global financial services firm in Chicago) as a Rotational Development Associate. My job will rotate me through core functions in support of the growing global fund services business.
